Li Xi and Ma Xingrui inspected the BYD Institute of Applied Technology, Han's Laser Institute, and other featured industrial schools of Shenzhen Polytechnic.

On December 8, 2020, Li Xi, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, and Ma Xingrui, Governor of Guangdong Province, visited the enterprises, vocational colleges, cultural sites and cultural relic protection units in Shenzhen and Dongguan, to carry out inspection in terms of studying and implementing the important speeches and instructions delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping when he attended the Grand Gathering to Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and visited Guangdong, implementing the guiding principles of the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and promoting the implementation of arrangements of the 11th plenary session of the 12th CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee.

Shenzhen Polytechnic is one of the first colleges to independently carry out higher vocational education in China, which now has 32,000 full-time students. Li Xi and Ma Xingrui visited the BYD Institute of Applied Technology, Han's Laser Institute, and other featured schools jointly built by schools and enterprises. They communicated with representatives of faculty members and students, and persons in charge of the schools, and investigated and understood the situation of specialty setting, curriculum development, teaching management and practical training of enterprises. Li Xi stressed that we should run schools with high standards at a higher starting point, deepening the school-enterprise cooperation, strengthening the teaching reform and innovation, and optimizing curriculum setting to cultivate more highly skilled talents on the basis of the reality of industrial development and the demand for workers.

Li Xi highlighted that Shenzhen and Dongguan need to study and implement the important speeches and instructions delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping, comprehend his concerns, shoulder the heavy historical responsibility, grasp new features and demand of the new stage of development, and promote the construction of “Two Areas”, namely the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Pilot Demonstration Area, to help Guangdong take the lead and create brighter glory in the new journey. First, we should make great contributions in the construction of “Two Areas” and the joint development of “Two Cities”, namely Guangzhou and Shenzhen, fully carry out the comprehensive reform pilot work of Shenzhen, promote the reform and opening-up at a higher level, further strengthen the coordinated reform, planning and alignment, and collaborated development among the cities at the Pearl River Delta, and enhance the overall competitiveness of “Two Areas” and “Two Cities” to drive the development of the whole province. Second, we need to deeply implement the innovation-driven development strategy, advance the building of the comprehensive national science center, improve the environmental system for scientific and technological innovation, speed up the building of a new system of high-level open economy, and make breakthroughs in core technologies, to build a high-tech and industrial innovation center with global influence. Third, we need to vigorously develop the real economy, unswervingly promote high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, upgrade the industrial base and modernize industrial chains, consolidate the foundation for the development of the manufacturing industry, and strengthen the status of the Pearl River Delta as a global advanced manufacturing base. Fourth, we should fully apply the general requirements for the construction of the CPC in the new era, take the lead in strengthening the overall leadership and construction of the CPC in the spirit of reform and innovation, enlarge the coverage of primary-level Party organizations, tighten discipline, improve Party conduct and fight corruption, and establish and improve incentive mechanisms, to motivate the hard-working spirit of Party members and officials. Fifth, solid work should be done at the turn of the year. We need to ensure safe production, check potential dangers, maintain regular epidemic prevention and control, improve the joint prevention and control of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, protect the lives and health of the people, to ensure social harmony and stability.
