In August, the Automobile Technology Segment of the 2022 National Vocational Students Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group), sponsored by the Ministry of Education, was successfully held in Xingtai, Hebei Province. 61 teams from 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country engaged in a high-level skills competition. Liu Longhao, a student from the major of new energy vehicles in the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering, won the first prize by virtue of his solid theoretical foundation and exquisite skills, perfectly demonstrating the “craftsman spirit” of pursuing excellence and better results.
This year, Shenzhen experienced several rounds of the epidemic, which brought huge challenges to the preparation work. Under the premise of meeting the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering faced the difficulty, and took multiple measures to ensure the preparation work. In February, the training vehicles were transported to the students’ homes thousands of miles away. The students practiced offline and the teachers provided online guidance. During the closed management of the college, offline preparation was carried out at the off-campus practice teaching base in the low-risk area. All the competition equipment were transported from the college to the off-campus practice teaching base, and the instructor team travelled more than 100 kilometers every day to provide offline guidance. One month before the competition, Shenzhen experienced the epidemic again. The instructor team and contestants arrived at the competition site nearly a month in advance, rented equipment and venues for sprint training. After all kinds of difficulties and challenges, the contestant Liu Longhao made good performance in the competition and won the national first prize.
