From January 19th to 21st, the onsite final of the "Dreams of Youth Aim Far and Wide: Planning for a Future Career" First National College Students' Career Planning Competition Guangdong Provincial Contest, organized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, was held in Guangzhou. Three students from SZPU, Teng Laiyi from the School of Materials and Environmental Engineering, Liu Jiajie from the School of Medical Technology and Nursing, and Luo Manyi from the School of Vocational and Technical Education, secured three gold awards with their outstanding performance and consistent delivery. Teng Laiyi and Liu Jiajie won the gold awards in the vocational education group's employment track, ranking first and second in the province, respectively, while Luo Manyi achieved the seventh place in the province and won the gold award in the vocational education group's growth track.

To implement the decisions and arrangements of the Central Party Committee, the State Council, and the provincial party committee and government regarding employment for college graduates, and to enhance career education and employment guidance in colleges, thereby improving students' awareness of career planning, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education launched the First National College Students' Career Planning Competition Guangdong Provincial Contest across the province's colleges in September 2023. Colleges across the province actively participated in the event, with a total of 820,400 students registering for the competition.

To advance the implementation of the First National College Students' Career Planning Competition, SZPU initiated the internal selection for the competition in October 2023, with 1,556 students registering. Through preliminary rounds at the school level, reviews by external experts, and onsite finals, six contestants were ultimately selected to enter the provincial online evaluation. The Admissions and Career Services Office provided comprehensive guidance throughout, organizing over 20 training sessions, including pre-competition mobilization, document preparation for the provincial online evaluation, and pitch training for the provincial finals. A total of 30 experts from across the country were invited to serve as judges and advisors, contributing over 100 hours of review and guidance.

During the competition, the Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Department of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education hosted a Guangdong Employment Promotion Seminar, with Liang Kuai, the director of SZPU's Admissions and Career Services Office, speaking on behalf of the college. He reported on the employment situation of SZPU graduates, main practices in employment work, and future measures.

The national competition of the First National College Students' Career Planning Competition is expected to take place in Shanghai from April to May 2024. Moving forward, the Admissions and Career Services Office, in conjunction with relevant schools, will fully prepare for the training and refining of projects for the first national competition, aiming for excellence in the national finals.
