On March 30th, the 2024 Guilin-Hong Kong-Guangdong Cultural Deep Dive and Speech Competition, jointly organized by our school, Nanning Vocational Technology College, and the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, officially kicked off in Nanning, Guangxi. The opening ceremony, attended by over 200 faculty and students from Nanning Vocational Technology College, the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, and Shenzhen Polytechnic University, marked a significant moment in cultural exchange.
During the ceremony, President Zhou Wang warmly welcomed the leaders and friends from Shenzhen and Hong Kong, emphasizing the significance of the Guilin-Hong Kong culture deep dive as a prominent cultural event in vocational education development. He highlighted its recognition as a key cultural exchange project by the Ministry of Culture in 2018, owing to its profound content and innovative format. President Wang specifically acknowledged the strong support and collaboration from Shenzhen Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, which has progressively enhanced the event's influence over the years.
In the speech competition, 18 outstanding contestants from Nanning Vocational Technology College, the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, and our school delivered compelling speeches under the themes of "Exceptional Work Skills and Attitudes" and "My Place of Residence." Utilizing Cantonese, English, Mandarin, and personal experiences, they captivated the audience with insightful perspectives. Following fierce competition, six contestants selected by our Student Affairs Office were honored with one special award, one first prize, and four second prizes. Additionally, one student was acclaimed as the "Favorite Speaker" by peers from the three regions.
The 2024 Guilin-Hong Kong-Guangdong Cultural Deep Dive and Speech Competition lasted from March 29th to April 2nd.
