The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) recently issued the“Circular on the Evaluation Results of Program Applications Centrally Received by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2022”. According to the evaluation results, SZPT has 15 programs approved for funding, including 4 general programs and 11 Youth Fund programs, with a total funding of RMB 5.45 million, which is the best achievement in history of SZPT with respect to NSFC programs. Compared with the same period last year, the number of programs increases by 4, the funding increases by RMB 1.76 million, up 36% and 47% respectively. So far, SZPT has obtained funding approval for more than 10 programs in this category for three consecutive years, and the total number of programs approved in the past five years has reached 61.

Innovation is the primary driving force for development, which istalent driven in essence. SZPT has always adhered to the strategy of strengthening the college with talents. By establishing a high-level applied technology research platform, increasing the introduction of high-level scientific researchers, and building innovation and R&D centers with leading enterprises in the industry, the overall level of scientific research has been continuously improved at SZPT. Next, SZPT will keep striving to create the most favorable environment for the development of talents and innovation, so as to speed up raising SZPT’s scientific research strength to a new level.

It is reported that NSFC program is one of the main funding channels for basic research in China. The number of NSFC programs and their funding amounts reflect the basic research level of colleges to a certain extent, and are important indicators to evaluate the performance of basic research at colleges.
