On March 16, the unveiling ceremony of SZPT-Huawei ICT Academy Support Center (“IASC”) was held in Conference Room 1, Tongde Building, Liuxiandong Campus. Cai Maozhou, Director and Superintendent of Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau, Lu Yongping, President of Huawei China Government-Enterprise Education and Medical System Department, Sun Gang, Director of Huawei Enterprise BG Talent Development Department, Zhang Jing, Deputy General Manager of Huawei Shenzhen Government-Enterprise Business, Guo Jinliang, General Manager of Huawei China Government-Enterprise Education and Medical Education System Department, Yang Xinbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of SZPT, and Xu Jianling, President of SZPT, attended the ceremony.

At the meeting, the leaders and guests jointly unveiled the SZPT-Huawei ICT Academy Support Center. As the first ICT Academy Support Center certified and authorized by Huawei in China, the center will, after its establishment, support the development and operation of more than 220 Huawei ICT academies across the country, explore the best mode of ICT talent training, refine the experience that can be copied and promoted, and boost the development of global ICT industry chain.

Deepen the industry-education integration, and promote the high-quality development of vocational education

Cai Maozhou stated at the unveiling ceremony that Shenzhen is one of the first pilot cities in China to integrate industry and education, and has always advocated and supported the integration of industry and education and the cooperation between schools and enterprises. In the past 17 years of cooperation, SZPT and Huawei have jointly built the Huawei Network Technology Academy (the first higher vocational college in China), and the Huawei ICT Academy in China. The talent training mode of “course and certificate co-existence and co-growth” jointly developed by the two sides has won the national special award for teaching achievements. The cooperation model of SZPT-Huawei ICT Academy provides a good example for the training of ICT technical talents, and has become a model for more than 2,200 ICT academies of Huawei worldwide. The SZPT-Huawei ICT College Support Center has been established by the two sides to explore the best practices of ICT talent training, refine the experience that can be copied, and promote it to Huawei ICT academies and vocational education circles around the world. The Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau will fully support the construction of the center and look forward to both sides making new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of vocational education in Shenzhen and even the world.

Lu Yongping said that as the “banner” of vocational education in China, SZPT takes serving the industrial development of Shenzhen as its own duty, contributes the “SZPT mode” to the development of vocational education in the world, and opens up a road for the development of higher vocational education with Chinese characteristics. As the world’s leading ICT (information and communication technology) infrastructure and intelligent terminal provider, Huawei has strong technical strength in the fields of communication network, IT, intelligent terminal and cloud services. This time, the two sides jointly integrate the most cutting-edge ICT technology into vocational education, committed to building the center into a cradle for the growth of certified instructors of Huawei ICT Academy and the birthplace of ICT technology communication in China, and contributing new wisdom and strength to the industrial development of Shenzhen and the promotion of Chinese-style modernization.

Xu Jianling said that the Party’s 20^th National Congress report deployed vocational education, emphasizing the “three-integration” system reform, with focus on the “integration of industry and education”. The integration of industry and education and the cooperation between schools and enterprises are the only way to the high-quality development of vocational education, and also the magic weapon and secret of SZPT to keep its characteristics and leading advantages. After more than ten years of exploration and practice, SZPT-Huawei ICT Academy has become a model of the integration of industry and education and the cooperation between schools and enterprises. To better support the development and operation of the college, the two sides have decided to establish the SZPT-Huawei ICT Academy, entering a new stage of cooperation to optimize the underlying logic of cooperation and expand the cooperation ecosystem. In the future, SZPT will continue to keep up with the needs of industrial development and the trend of technological development, and join hands with Huawei to train more high-quality technical talents and skilled craftsmen, show new achievements in promoting the high-quality development of vocational education, and create a “featured model” of the industry-education integration and the school-enterprise cooperation.

Support the development and operation of domestic ICT academies, and boost the development of global ICT industry chain

From “mutual support for co-existence” to “mutual support for co-growth” and then to “mutual integration for co-research”, SZPT has a long and fruitful cooperation with Huawei. Since 2006, the two sides have worked together to promote the reform of “enterprise competency-oriented” talent training mode, and explore the talent training mode of the industry-enterprise integration and the school-enterprise cooperation with “Shenzhen characteristics”. In terms of mode innovation, the talent training mode of “course and certificate co-existence and co-growth” won the national special award for teaching achievements, achieving a zero breakthrough of special awards in all levels and types of education in Guangdong Province. In terms of talent training, every year, more than one thousand SZPT students have been admitted to Huawei HCIA and 1+X certificates, accurately and efficiently serving the ICT industry chain. In terms of international promotion, the mode of SZPT-Huawei ICT Academy has been promoted and applied to many countries and regions around the world, and the 4G/5G international courses jointly developed by the two sides have also gone to the world.

To further promote the deep integration of industry and education in vocational education, SZPT and Huawei have established the SZPT-Huawei ICT Academy on the basis of the previous cooperation to sum up the successful experience of SZPT-Huawei ICT Academy and popularize it to the world. At the same time, the center will help other colleges build, develop and operate ICT academies by carrying out teacher training, providing technical support and assisting in operation and management, so as to cultivate more innovative and application-oriented technical talents for the ICT industry chain.

It is reported that this year, SZPT-Huawei ICT Academy will help 100 domestic ICT academies reach operational standards, which are expected to train 15,000 talents. SZPT will cooperate with the supported colleges to compile and publish 5 textbooks related to Huawei technology; organize 2 national talent selection meetings to connect upstream and downstream enterprises in the ICT industry with graduates in order to realize the high-quality employment of talents. Meanwhile, the center also serves as an incubation function. It is expected that in the next two years, it will incubate 4-9 support centers together with Huawei, so that there will be 1-2 Huawei support centers in the east, south, west, north and central regions respectively, and a nationwide network of ICT academy support centers will be established.
