From June 14th to 19th, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Shenzhen Polytechnic University welcomed 42 faculty members and students from Singapore's Temasek Polytechnic for a six-day cultural and academic exchange event. This initiative not only strengthened the friendship between the two institutions but also promoted collaborative efforts in advancing international education.
In the conference room 103 of Houde Building, Xilihu Campus, Vice Deanof theSchool of Mechanical and Electrical EngineeringLi Zhibin personally greeted the guests from afar and delivered a speech. He emphasized that international exchanges and collaborations are pivotal in enhancing educational quality and broadening perspectives. He expressed hopes that through this event, a lasting and profound cooperation could be established with Temasek Polytechnic, exploring new frontiers in education and research.
Teacher Zhong Ziwen subsequently elaborated on the development history and characteristics of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Ms. Wong Yoke Moon, the lead teacher from Temasek Polytechnic, also delivered remarks at the meeting. She expressed heartfelt thanks for the warm reception from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and shared Temasek Polytechnic’s educational philosophy and professional characteristics. She mentioned that this exchange was a valuable learning experience and expressed hope that both sides could deepen their communication through this opportunity, jointly cultivating innovative talents fit for the future.
During the week-long event, faculty and students from Temasek Polytechnic delved into meticulously planned courses and activities organized by the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. They not only engaged with cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printing and industrial robots but also visited renowned enterprises like Han's Laser, TCL CSOT, and Shenzhen InnoX Academy. Through these experiences, they witnessed firsthand the thriving development and technological innovation within China's manufacturing industry.
This cultural exchange event not only allowed faculty and students from Temasek Polytechnic to appreciate the unique charm of vocational education in China but also opened a window for them to understand Chinese culture and society. Through in-depth dialogues with enterprises, they gained a deeper understanding of the transformation, upgrading, and innovative development in China's manufacturing industry.
