The University Holds the Flag-Raising Ceremony for the New Semester

On the morning of September 2nd, the first day of the new academic year, the university simultaneously held the new semester flag-raising ceremony at the Liuxiandong Campus Stadium and Xili Lake Campus Stadium on the Xili Campus, OCT Campus Stadium. Attending the ceremony were University Party Secretary Yang Xinbin, Vice Party Secretary and President Xu Jianling, Vice Presidents Dong Chaojun, Li Xiaoyuan, and Zhang Zuotai, among others. A total of over 12,000 participants, including leaders from various departments, faculty, and student representatives, took part in the event.

The new semester's flag-raising ceremony was simultaneously held at the Liuxiandong Campus Stadium and Xili Lake Campus Stadium on the Xili Campus, as well as the OCT Campus Stadium.

At 7:30 a.m., the flag-raising ceremony officially began. Accompanied by the solemn national anthem, the flag guard passionately raised the majestic Five-Starred Red Flag, while all teachers and students stood at attention, gazing intently at the flag rising, with hearts filled with excitement and joy, wishing for the continuous prosperity and strength of our great motherland.

Following the ceremony, Tang Wen, a 2023 undergraduate student from the New Energy Vehicle Engineering Technology major, Yuan Xiaoyu, a 2022 student from the School of Economics majoring in Community Management and Services, and Zhan Liuqing, a 2024 freshman from the Industrial Design major, delivered speeches under the national flag as student representatives. Tang Wen, who was admitted to the Shenzhen Polytechnic University last year with outstanding grades, recounted his experiences over the past year, from organizing campus activities to participating in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, and even engaging in summer social practices like the “Hundred-Thousand-Million Project” task force initiative. He urged all students to courageously and wisely carry the baton of history, remain true to their aspirations, stay focused on their mission, and honor their youth through hard work and perseverance, letting it bloom brilliantly as they strive to achieve the century-long dream!

Yuan Xiaoyu shared her team's efforts in preparing for the 14th "Challenge Cup" University Entrepreneurship Competition and their summer social practice, during which they visited 12 villages, 10 companies, and agricultural cooperatives, and conducted interviews with over 200 people. The team’s persistence resulted in winning the Gold Award in Guangdong Province, and they are now preparing for the national competition. She called on her fellow students to embrace this new starting point, face future challenges and opportunities with greater enthusiasm and determination, and heed the call of the times to be self-reliant, uphold integrity, pursue innovation, and forge ahead with courage and resolve. She encouraged them to relentlessly strive for excellence, climb new heights, and contribute their youthful energy to the realization of the Chinese Dream and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!

Freshman Zhan Liuqing from the Industrial Design major expressed her understanding of design, emphasizing that design is not merely about aesthetics and innovation but also about enhancing and optimizing human lifestyles. She hopes to integrate design thinking into problem-solving throughout her studies and practice at theShenzhen Polytechnic University, leveraging the unique cultural and ecological advantages of the OCT district and the university’s resources to cultivate professional skills and lay a solid foundation for her future career.

At the end of the ceremony, thousands of teachers and students recited the university motto three times, their resounding voices echoing throughout the campus. After the flag-raising ceremony, many expressed that as young people of the new era, they would remain steadfast in following the Party's guidance, stay grounded while pursuing their dreams, be bold in their ambitions, and diligent in their efforts. They are determined to become a new generation of youth with ideals, responsibility, perseverance, and a commitment to hard work. With youthful vigor, they will embrace the historic mission of building a modern socialist country and let their youth bloom gloriously in this greatendeavor, while eagerly looking forward to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with renewed vigor.
