On October 1, a teacher-student symposium themed "Swearing an Oath to the Motherland: Strong Nation, Count on Us" was held at SZPU’s Lida Academy (photo) to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event was presided over by Yang Xinbin, Party Secretary of SZPU. More than 20 participants, including representatives from the Office of Student Affairs, the Youth League Committee, Lida Academy, and faculty and student representatives, attended the meeting.
During the exchange session, the participants, reflecting on their personal experiences in study and work, expressed their best wishes for the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China and shared their insights. Yang Li, a teacher from the School of Integrated Circuits, emphasized that educators must carry forward and practice the spirit of People’s Education, remaining committed to nurturing talents for the Party and the nation. She encouraged teachers to become leaders in innovation and pioneers in the development of vocational undergraduate education. Zhang Shasha, a teacher from the School of Marxism, reiterated the importance of staying true to one’s original mission, aiming to cultivate a new generation of youth with social responsibility, innovation, and practical skills. Seventeen student representatives from 17 different schools shared their reflections, expressing that, standing at this historical juncture of the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China, contemporary youth should take on the responsibility and mission of the nation, boldly embracing the task of building a better future. They affirmed their pride in the country’s remarkable achievements and expressed their eagerness to witness the grand celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China 25 years from now.
After attentively listening to the speeches, Yang Xinbin, taking a historical perspective and focusing on national rejuvenation, bolstered the participants' sense of pride and responsibility through various case studies. Drawing from President Xi Jinping’s important speeches, Yang elaborated on themes of “Aspiring for a Strong Nation,” “Mastering the Skills for a Strong Nation,” and “Contributing to a Strong Nation.” He urged the students to hold firm their aspirations for a strong nation, solidify their ideals, set clear life goals, and stay on the path of perseverance. Yang also encouraged students to hone their skills, build strong foundations, broaden their international perspectives, and embrace innovation in their professional practice. He concluded by calling on everyone to apply their expertise to meet the needs of the nation, people, industry, and society, contributing their strength to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
