The Unveiling Ceremony was Held at the Xili Campus of Shenzhen Polytechnic University.
The first "Embodied Intelligence Industry Faculty" among national vocational undergraduate institutions has been established at Shenzhen Polytechnic University (hereinafter referred to as "SZPU"). On January 9, the signing and unveiling ceremony for the co-construction of the Embodied Intelligence Industry Faculty between SZPU and UBTECH Robotics Corp Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "UBTECH") was held at the Xili Campus of SZPU. Xu Jianling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of SZPU, Zhong Yong, Senior Vice President of UBTECH and President of the Education and Consumer Business Group, along with other leading guests, attended the event. The ceremony was hosted by Chi Ruinan, Vice Dean (presiding over work) of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence.
Xu Jianling stated that in recent years, the university has aligned with Shenzhen's "20+8" industrial cluster needs, co-building 16 distinctive industry faculties with leading enterprises such as Huawei and BYD, leading the establishment of a national municipal industry-education consortium and eight industry-level industry-education integration communities, thereby forming a robust industry-education integration ecosystem. As a leading enterprise in the robotics field, UBTECH's technological strengths complement SZPU's educational resources. He expressed confidence that, through joint efforts, the "SZPU–UBTECH Embodied Intelligence Industry Faculty" will become a new benchmark for industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation in the vocational education sector, cultivating more high-end skilled talents genuinely needed for the high-quality development of embodied intelligence and humanoid robotics industries, and contributing greater "SZPU strength" and "UBTECH solutions" to the construction of Chinese-style modernization.
Zhong Yong stated that UBTECH has always been committed to the innovative research and development as well as the industrial implementation of intelligent robots, and fully recognizes that high-quality industrial development cannot be separated from talent support. Shenzhen Polytechnic University is renowned as a “flagship” of Chinese vocational education, having achieved outstanding results in cultivating high-skilled talents adapted to the needs of emerging industries. The collaborative establishment of the Embodied Intelligence Industry Faculty on this occasion represents a strategic choice that aligns with the trends of technological development and industrial transformation. UBTECH will fully leverage its technological, industrial, and ecosystem advantages in the fields of intelligent robotics and artificial intelligence, and work together with Shenzhen Polytechnic University to explore innovative integration pathways of “robotics + artificial intelligence + education.” By incorporating cutting-edge technologies, real projects, and enterprise standards into the entire talent cultivation process, the two parties will jointly build a new paradigm for school-enterprise collaborative education.
Subsequently, Li Weiguang, KA Market Director of UBTECH’s Industry-Education Integration Business, provided a detailed introduction to the cooperation construction plan and vision for the “Shenzhen Polytechnic University–UBTECH Embodied Intelligence Industry Faculty.” He stated that the industry faculty will adhere to the core goal of “building a national demonstration benchmark with a high starting point, high standards, and high quality,” and will focus on establishing four major functional centers: the Humanoid Robot Co-Research and Co-Creation Center, the Excellence Talent Training Center, the Industrial Humanoid Robot Model Training Center for Production Processes, and the Industry Certification and Achievement Transformation Center. At the same time, the faculty will advance three core programs—the Embodied Intelligence Technology Application Project-Based Talent Cultivation Program, the Robotics Industry High-End Technical Skilled Talent Reserve Program, and the Embodied Intelligence Industry Technology Breakthrough and Achievement Application Promotion Program—thereby constructing a dual-entity collaborative industry-education integration talent cultivation system. Through five years of construction, it aims to achieve a series of landmark results in areas such as standard development, professional advancement, scenario research and development, curriculum development, faculty cultivation, talent certification, and international services, ultimately forming a replicable and promotable “Shenzhen Model” for embodied intelligence talent cultivation.

Representatives of both parties signed the cooperation framework agreement.
In the presence of all attending participants, representatives of both parties signed the cooperation framework agreement and jointly unveiled the establishment of the “Shenzhen Polytechnic University–UBTECH Embodied Intelligence Industry Faculty.” Both parties will engage in in-depth cooperation in areas such as co-building industry and talent cultivation standards, advancing professional development, developing vocational education vertical large models, co-constructing faculty ecosystems and industry-education integration practice centers, among others. They will build the industry faculty into a high-level collaborative platform that integrates talent cultivation, technological research and development, innovation incubation, and social services, thereby empowering the intelligent robotics industry and exploring a “Shenzhen Model” for vocational education reform and innovation.
It is understood that Shenzhen Polytechnic University established its Faculty of Artificial Intelligence as early as 2019. Since its founding, the faculty has closely aligned with the frontiers of artificial intelligence and robotics industries, accumulating solid foundations in professional development, talent cultivation, and technological research. The faculty systematically laid out artificial intelligence professional clusters at an early stage, published multiple textbooks in the robotics field, established an intelligent robotics virtual simulation center, and undertaken national natural science foundation projects related to robotics. Faculty and students have repeatedly won gold awards in national competitions such as “Internet+” and “Challenge Cup.” Particularly noteworthy is the solid foundation of prior cooperation between the faculty and UBTECH, including joint development of “1+X” robotics skills certification textbooks, collaborative participation in relevant standard formulation, and approval of a Ministry of Education industry-university collaborative education project.
