On September 8, under the tremendous support from the Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau and Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, China's first "Huawei 5G+ Industry-Education Integration Base for Digital Talents" (hereinafter referred to as the "Shenzhen Polytechnic-Huawei 5G Base") co-constructed by our school andZhejiang Huawei Communication Technology Co., Ltd. was unveiled in Shenzhen Polytechnic. According to reports, leveraging the School of Electronics & Information Engineering, Shenzhen Polytechnic-Huawei 5G Base has determined the four-pronged strategy ("government-enterprise-bank-school") for talent cultivation as the construction connotation with digitalization, scenarios, and practices as the characteristics. By closely centering on the trends of economic development, industrial development, and technological development, the base has introduced the post capability standard and skill model of 5G + Industry to promote the upgrading of the talent training system of the school, cultivate talents in 5G-related fields for the society, and drive the development and dissemination of technologies in 5G-related fields.
Xu Zhibin indicated in his speech that the information and communication technology (ICT) industry is an emerging industry of national strategic importance and a vital force in realizing national strategies such as the cyberpower, Digital China, and smart society. At the front of the ICT industry and technological development nationwide, Shenzhen is the residence of an array of leading enterprises in the field of ICT such as Huawei and Tencent. The cooperation between Shenzhen Polytechnic and Huawei is a national paragon of the industry-education integration, which has yielded prominent results. It is hoped that Shenzhen Polytechnic, harnessing the full coverage of 5G SA, can rely on the Shenzhen Polytechnic-Huawei 5G Base to make the best of vocational education, and cultivate more skilled talents of the ICT to contribute to the 5G network construction and technology application of Shenzhen.
Zhou Jinjun expressed that amidst the accelerating 5G construction process in China, talents will be seen as the new engine for the industrial digital transformation. In order to train top technical and skilled personnel who lead the economic and social innovation in the future, industry-education integration is seeing the best environment of development. The settlement of the Shenzhen Polytechnic-Huawei 5G Base is another result of the cooperation of Shenzhen Polytechnic and Huawei in the decade-plus practices of the industry-education integration. By virtue of the 5G-related technologies of Huawei, which are expected to meet the all-directional demands for 5G+ teaching, scientific research, and social services of schools, Shenzhen Polytechnic-Huawei 5G Base will facilitate the high-quality cultivation of 5G+ application-oriented talents on a larger scale, as well as catalyze the vocational education reform.
