In order to fully implement the guiding principles of the National Conference on Vocational Education and the Opinions on Promoting the High-quality Development of Modern Vocational Education, on November 16, under the guidance of the Department of Vocational Education and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education, the "Forum on the Promotion of High-quality Development of Modern Vocational Education" hosted by the Central Institute for Vocational and Technical Education and co-organized by Higher Education Press was held in Beijing. Yang Xinbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen Polytechnic, was invited to attend the meeting and make a keynote speech.

Taking advantage of both online and offline channels, the Forum aimed at learning and implementing the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. Yang Xinbin delivered a keynote speech entitled Striving to Be the First "Trailblazer" for the Innovative Development of China's Vocational Education, in which he introduced the ideas and practices of Shenzhen Polytechnic to promote the high-quality development of vocational education. He pointed out that under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Shenzhen Polytechnic took the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on vocational education as the fundamental basis for school running. Firstly, it insisted on moral cultivation, deeply explored "Shenzhen stories", interpreted the Chinese path, improved the enthusiasm for ideological and political education, and provided Shenzhen cases and experience for national ideological and political curriculum innovation. Secondly, it deepened the industry-education integration, university-enterprise cooperation, and took the industry chain demand as the logical starting point for school running through the establishment of the distinctive industry college. Thirdly, it aimed at the forefront of world industrial development, followed "the highest, newest and best" standards, explored the mode of vocational education suitable for China's national conditions, and formed a "Chinese scheme" for high-quality vocational education. He said that the future vision of Shenzhen Polytechnic was to build itself into a highland for the cultivation of high-level technical and skilled talent, the innovation of industry-education integration, the gathering of celebrities and masters, the research and development of applied technologies, social training services and the innovation of global vocational education.
