On May 20, the semi-final of the higher vocational segment in the nineth session of the Competition for Undergraduate on Innovation Research & Experimental Design in Basic Medical Sciences was held in Xingtai. The team of students instructed by the teachers Zhou Lanlan and Qin Yanyan from the School of Medical Technology and Nursing won the first prize, and the team instructed by Niu Mao and Xiang Lan won the second prize, both qualified to enter the national competition.
According to reports, the forum is a national medical basic scientific research activities for college students, the highest level of discipline competition for students in the field of basic medicine in China, aimed at promoting the comprehensive reform of medical education and the innovation of medical practice teaching system, building an exchange, study and interaction platform for the higher vocational colleges to cultivate students’ innovation and entrepreneurship ability, and train a group of top-ranking talents with original innovation consciousness and capability. The semi-final was organized by Xingtai Medical College, covering 56 higher vocational colleges in 19 provinces and municipalities across the country. There were 199 teams of 845 college students participating. The number of participating schools and the number of submissions both reached a record high.
Our college formed a team to participate in the competition for the first time, and the 6 teams selected by the School of Medical Technology and Nursing and the School of Food and Drug won 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes and 1 excellence award.
