Recently, the results of the 2023 "WorldStar" Packaging Design Awards were announced. Shenzhen Polytechnic University has been honored with two awards, making our university the only Chinese institution to receive recognition in this international competition.

The 2023 "WorldStar" Packaging Awards received a total of 435 packaging design entries from 41 countries and regions. After rigorous evaluation by the judges, China has secured 10 awards in total. The two winning designs from our university are "High Mountain Tea" packaging design and "Big Mouth Bird Feed" packaging design, both created by faculty members Li Gongwei and Yu Guang from the School of Communication Engineering.

Winning this prestigious award for the second consecutive year not only showcases the outstanding achievements of our university in the field of packaging planning and design but also reflects the dedication and creativity of our professional team from conceptualization to final product. This international recognition not only affirms the quality of our education but also guides the direction of our professional development.

Established in 1968, the World Packaging Organization (WPO) is a non-profit international organization aimed at developing the packaging industry worldwide. WorldStar is one of the main activities of the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and is a prestigious global award in the packaging field. It demonstrates the continuous progress of packaging design and technology in various areas such as packaging structure, environmental protection, regional cultural heritage, and creates an international standard for excellent packaging that is both informative and inspiring.

The purpose of the "WorldStar" Packaging Design Award is to raise awareness of the importance of packaging in improving life and to recognize the innovation and efforts of brand owners and designers, honoring the best of global packaging innovation design. This global award enhances the voice of packaging, brings brightness to innovation, and meets the needs and challenges of modern life and major trends in the supply chain and consumer chain: food conservation, sustainable development, brand and user experience, food safety, intelligent packaging, and more.

The 2023 "WorldStar" Packaging Design Award ceremony will be held on June 15, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand. Winners and professionals from the packaging industry from around the world will attend the ceremony, witnessing this moment of honor together. (School of Communication Engineering, Yu Guang)
