Our Students Win Two Grand Prizes and One First Prize at the Huawei ICT Competition Global Final

Competition Scene.

On May 26, the Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Global Final concluded in Shenzhen, where our teams won two Grand Prizes and one First Prize, making us one of the most awarded Chinese universities in the competition.

Under the guidance of Wang Sunan from the School of Electronic and Communication Engineering, students Liu Sicai, Yin Jiahong, and Lu Zhixiong won the Grand Prize in the Practice Competition - Network Track. Additionally, students Su Youdi, Xu Jiarong, and Feng Xinsheng, mentored by Wu Weiqiang, secured the Grand Prize in the Practice Competition - Cloud Track. Meanwhile, students Wu Jialun, Fang Junhong, and Huang Lintao, guided by Zhang Qian, achieved the First Prize in the Practice Competition - Computing Track.

These awards not only reflect the solid professional foundation of our students but also showcases the significant achievements of our university in teaching quality and talent cultivation. The School of Electronic and Communication Engineering has always emphasized the development of students’ practical abilities and innovative spirit. Through partnerships with enterprises, practical teaching, and various competitions, the school has provided students with rich practical opportunities and ample development space. As the global digitalization process accelerates, the demand for ICT talent continues to grow. The School of Electronic and Communication Engineering will further strengthen its deep cooperation with leading companies like Huawei, continuously optimizing talent cultivation programs to deliver more high-quality and highly skilled ICT professionals to society.

The Huawei ICT Competition is an annual global ICT event created by Huawei for university students, providing an international platform for competition and exchange. This year’s competition was the largest offline event in Huawei’s history, attracting over 170,000 students from more than 2,000 universities across 80 countries and regions. After rigorous selections through national and regional contests, over 160 teams and more than 470 contestants from 49 countries and regions advanced to the global final.
