On December 6, Xia Zehan, Director of UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia, visited Shenzhen Polytechnic University. The meeting was attended by Yang Xinbin, Party Secretary of the university, along with relevant officials from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the UNESCO TVET Liaison Center, and other related departments.

At the meeting, Yang Xinbin introduced the university’s recent developments, with a focus on the achievements of the UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and the university’s overall internationalization strategy. He expressed gratitude for the long-standing support from the UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia and emphasized the university’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the office in order to contribute further to the development of vocational education in China and globally.

Xia Zehan highly praised the university’s recent achievements, particularly the progress made through the UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET. He noted that the Chair is an important platform for promoting academic exchanges and fostering international collaboration between universities and other higher education institutions. The research outcomes and various projects conducted by the Chair have significant implications for the development of global vocational education and other related fields.

Subsequently, both parties engaged in an in-depth discussion on topics including joint research and policy formulation for digital transformation, supporting the development of vocational education in Africa, establishing digital workshops, and co-hosting international academic seminars.

After the meeting, Mr. Xia Zehan visited the university’s Digital Media College training room, the Key Materials Research Institute for Integrated Circuits, and the Future Technology College, where he had in-depth discussions with faculty members. He expressed admiration for the university’s digital and green transformation in traditional industries, research on digital industrialization, and its talent cultivation model in future technologies.
