On February 24, the first day of the new semester, Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU) launched a comprehensive inspection of teaching order. Party Secretary Yang Xinbin, along with university leadership, and heads of the Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, and Quality Assurance Center, formed a special inspection team to conduct a full-scale evaluation of classroom teaching conditions at both the Xili and Xiangmi campuses. This initiative employed a dual-track approach, combining university-level oversight with college-level self-inspections to ensure smooth teaching operations.
Seven inspection teams were set up to assess all teaching facilities across the two campuses. The inspection covered key aspects such as faculty attendance, student participation, classroom discipline, teaching atmosphere, and the overall learning environment, including infrastructure conditions. The results indicated that all academic departments placed great emphasis on organizing the semester’s first-day teaching activities, ensuring meticulous planning and seamless coordination. Faculty members were well-prepared and engaged, conducting classes with enthusiasm and maintaining structured classroom management. Meanwhile, students demonstrated high levels of motivation, fostering an interactive and dynamic learning atmosphere. Thanks to the collective efforts of faculty and staff, SZPU maintained an orderly and rigorous teaching environment, reflecting a strong academic culture.
However, the inspection also identified areas for improvement. Some course structures and teaching materials need further optimization to better align with industry trends and technological advancements. Faculty members are encouraged to integrate new information technologies to enhance lesson planning and teaching effectiveness. Additionally, inconsistencies in attendance tracking via digital nameplates and underutilization of teaching resources were noted. Moving forward, the Academic Affairs Office will collaborate with relevant departments to develop targeted solutions to address these issues and ensure continuous improvement in teaching quality.
