On April 28, the GDI Think Tank released the "2025 GDI Vocational University Ranking," evaluating all undergraduate-level vocational universities in mainland China. The university secured the top spot with a perfect score of 100.
This is the second year the GDI Think Tank has published the ranking. The 2025 GDI Vocational University Ranking uses the Ministry of Education’s latest "List of National Higher Education Institutions" as its basis, employing a systematic and scientific evaluation framework to assess undergraduate-level vocational universities across six key dimensions. Primary indicators include school-running conditions, talent development, scientific research, social reputation, societal contributions, and international impact. These are refined into 14 secondary indicators, such as faculty strength, character education, training conditions, training outcomes, research achievements, institutional reputation, and technical services. It also innovatively includes unique indicators like skills master studios and national city-level industry-education consortia, emphasizing the educational characteristics of vocational undergraduate programs, which prioritize industry-education integration and practice-oriented approaches. With over 140 specific indicators, the evaluation aims to be comprehensive, objective, and scientifically rigorous.
The ranking indicates that the university scored a perfect 100, securing first place. Ranks 2 to 5 are held by Jinhua Vocational and Technical University (score: 88.324), Guangdong Light Industry Vocational and Technical University (score: 83.158), Chongqing Vocational University of Electronic Science and Technology (score: 83.047), and Nanjing Vocational University of Technology (score: 82.927).
