Recently, the Faculty of Digital Media at Shenzhen Polytechnic University achieved another notable success: the rural revitalization design poverty alleviation work Original Ecological Poverty Alleviation Leaf Packaging by Chen Yongjun, a teacher in the Packaging Planning and Design program, stood out among numerous entries from double first-class universities, academies of fine arts, and other strong professional institutions. It was successfully selected for the 14th National Exhibition of Fine Arts, becoming the only packaging work from a higher education institution in Guangdong Province to be selected. This accomplishment fully demonstrates the profound accumulation and innovative capability of the Faculty of Digital Media in the field of packaging design practice and research.

The 14th National Exhibition of Fine Arts is the fourteenth edition of the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, which was established in 1949 and is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the China Artists Association. It is the largest, most extensive in participation, most diverse in categories, and most authoritative and influential national comprehensive fine arts exhibition in China, held every five years. It represents the highest level of national fine arts creation and serves as a comprehensive review and showcase of the development of the national fine arts community over each five-year period. The exhibition undergoes two rounds of selection—initial evaluation by provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, followed by national final evaluation—and covers categories such as Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture, and art design, reflecting mainstream social aesthetic orientations and policy directions.

The Faculty of Digital Media has long been committed to establishing deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application with the industrial sector. Through school-enterprise cooperation and serving enterprise innovation and development, it continuously promotes the healthy development of teaching, research, and discipline construction in its programs.

This breakthrough achievement in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts represents yet another fruitful outcome of the faculty’s long-term adherence to an application-oriented approach and deepening industry-education integration. It not only highlights the outstanding professional competence and creative level of the faculty’s faculty but also demonstrates the high degree of alignment between the faculty’s research system and industry needs. In the future, the Faculty of Digital Media will continue to leverage the industrial advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, striving for deep integration of research, industry, academia, and application with enterprises, empowering industries through design and serving society through creativity.
