National Seminar on Digital Legal Talent Cultivation Held in Shenzhen

Recently, the National Seminar on Digital Legal Talent Cultivation and the Unveiling Ceremony of the Guangdong Data Elements Market and Vocational Development Research Institute were held at Shenzhen Polytechnic University. Leaders from relevant government departments, university scholars, industry experts, and enterprise representatives gathered to discuss plans for digital legal talent cultivation.

Leaders from the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education and the Ministry of Justice, Feng Wei, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Director of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, Wang Hong, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Jiang Xiaowen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Justice Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, Xu Jianling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of SZPU, Professor Shen Weixing from School of Law, Tsinghua University, Professor Yang Dong, Dean of Renmin University of China Law School, Professor Yuan Gang from China University of Political Scienceand Law, Professor Zhang Kai, Member of the Standing Committee and Vice President of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, Professor Liu Kai from South China University of Technology, Professor Yu Liantao, Deputy Director of the National Judicial Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, Mei Zhen, Co-founder and Chief Legal Officer ofFadadaNetwork Technology Co., Ltd., Zhu Haimeng, Executive Vice President of the Shenzhen People’s Mediation Association, Professor Wang Ying, Dean of the School of Economics at SZPU, and representatives from sister universities inside and outside the province engaged in in-depth discussions on digital legal talent cultivation and data elements market development paths, reaching broad consensus and laying a practical foundation for promoting the digital transformation of legal services and the upgrading of the vocational education system.

In the speech session, Wang Hong gave an in-depth introduction to Shenzhen’s new initiatives in digital legal talent cultivation; Jiang Xiaowen provided a profound explanation of the interdisciplinary and industry-education integrated talent cultivation system for digital legal professionals; Mei Zhen expressed earnest expectations for collaborating with colleagues in national judicial vocational education to support the construction of Digital China and the Rule of Law in China; XuJianlingstated that SZPU will take this conference as an opportunity to strive to build a “SZPU Model” for the digital transformation of national judicial vocational education.

In the keynote report session, Professor Shen Weixing focused on “Changes in Legal Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Legal Talent Cultivation” and shared Tsinghua University’s valuable experience; Professor Yang Dong shared new ideas and explorations in talent cultivation at Renmin University of China under the title “The Renmin University Model for Digital Legal Talent Cultivation”; Professor Yuan Gang shared innovative models and practical experience in interdisciplinary and compound rule-of-law talent cultivationbased on the “Law-Engineering Integration and Liberal Arts-Engineering Intersection” joint training of top innovative talents in intelligent law between China University of Political Science and Law and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Professor Liu Kai systematically elaborated on new pathways provided by legal artificial intelligence for the popularization of legal services around legal AI and the reshaping of the rule-of-law ecosystem; Professor Wang Ying combined exploration and practice in building digital legal vocational undergraduate programs to elaborate on innovative pathways for legal vocational education in the digital era, promoting deep integration between technology and law.

The conference achieved practical results in promoting substantive cooperation. The “Guangdong Data Elements Market and Vocational Development Research Base” was officially unveiled. Led by Shenzhen Polytechnic University and jointly established with the Shenzhen Data Exchange and Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, the base aims to focus on data elements governance and vocational development research, building a high-level think tank serving regional development.

The Blockchain Research Institute of Renmin University of China and the School of Economics of Shenzhen Polytechnic University signed a cooperation framework agreement. The two parties will carry out all-round cooperation in digital legal research, AI legal service standard development, exploration of new occupations such as “Judicial Technologist”, and talent cultivation.
