
The National Finals of the 4thChina Collegiate Computing Competition (Higher Vocational and Technical Education) recently concluded successfully. Two teams from the Digital Media Art Design program of the School of Digital Media at Shenzhen Polytechnic University(SZPU)delivered outstanding performances, winning one First Prize and one Second Prize at the national level.
Among them, the work “Yingzao Fashi” (“State Building Standards”), guided by instructors Li Zhiyong and Liu Mingguo, competed in the Digital Media Games and Interactive Design category. Drawing on a classical architectural text, the work integrates modern digital interaction and game design technologies to digitally recreate traditional construction techniques and architectural aesthetics. With its innovative concept and sophisticated technical execution, it won First Prize at the national level. The original short film “Between Form and Space,” guided by instructors Xu Rui and Zhang Wen, competed in the Digital Media Animation and Short Film category. Focusing on Fujian’s iconic Hakka tulou cluster known as “Four Dishes and One Soup,” the work explores the wisdom of Hakka architectural craftsmanship and the rich regional cultural heritage embodied in the architectural interplay of square and circular forms. Through refined animation and compelling visual storytelling, the work brings the beauty of traditional architecture to life and won Second Prize at the national level.
