On the morning of August 17, the unveiling ceremony and technical exchange event for the 3D Printing Public Technical Service Center of Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU) was held in the West Hall of the Library at the Xili Lake Campus. Liang Zhaofeng, Member of the CPC SZPU Committee and Vice President of the University, attended the event. Representatives and experts from a number of enterprises and institutions, including Shenzhen Tuozhu Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Pingle Orthopedic Hospital, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen University, and Southern University of Science and Technology, gathered to witness the unveiling of the Center and engage in in-depth discussions on advances in 3D printing technology and industry-education integration.
At 9:00 a.m., the 3D Printing Public Technical Service Center, jointly established by SZPU and Shenzhen Tuozhu Technology Co., Ltd., was officially unveiled. Liang Zhaofeng joined Jiang Songzhang and Zou Jiawei, heads of R&D projects at Tuozhu Technology, and Chen Yanyun, an HR representative from the university-enterprise partnership, in unveiling the Center. As a leading company in the global consumer 3D printing industry, Tuozhu Technology has donated dedicated funding and 3D printing equipment to SZPU and established the Tuozhu Education Fund, which supports talent recruitment, teaching and student awards, and student innovation and entrepreneurship projects, among other areas. To date, 21 SZPU alumni have taken up positions in key technical roles at Tuozhu Technology, becoming core members of the company’s R&D and production teams. The joint establishment of the Public Technical Service Center marks a new stage in the partnership, expanding cooperation from educational donations to platform development and collaborative talent cultivation.
Following the unveiling ceremony, SZPU and Shenzhen Pingle Orthopedic Hospital (TCM Hospital of Pingshan District, Shenzhen) signed a cooperation agreement. Liang Zhaofeng and Yan Bingcheng, Deputy Director of Pingle Orthopedic Hospital, signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties. Under the agreement, the two parties will deepen cooperation in areas including medical applications of 3D printing and interdisciplinary collaboration between engineering and medicine, promoting innovative applications of additive manufacturing technologies in clinical orthopedic treatment.
At the technical exchange session that followed, Cheng Lusha, Director of the 3D Printing Public Technical Service Center, gave an overview of the Center’s development and technological focus. The Center’s technical services are designed to address the diverse needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for emerging manufacturing technologies in precision medicine and the broader health industry. Its core services cover key areas including 3D printing, product design verification, reverse engineering scanning, and geometric measurement and inspection, serving a range of major industries such as consumer electronics, medical devices, aerospace, and education and research.
During the roundtable discussion, distinguished guests—including Professor Mi Shengli of Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School; Liu Caiyan, Assistant Researcher and member of the team led by Professor Hao Liang, Dean of the School of Design at Southern University of Science and Technology; Zhang Yong, Chief Expert of Pingle Orthopedic Hospital; Shen Xingdong, Executive Deputy Director of the Additive Manufacturing Committee of the International Alliance for Skills Development under the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS Countries; and Liu Yongli, Vice President of the Intelligent Molding Processes and Equipment Branch of the China Electronics Enterprise Association—held in-depth discussions on topics including the latest developments in 3D printing technology, engineering-medicine collaboration, talent development, and industry-education integration.
During the corporate technology-sharing session, Li Xiaoliang, National Education Director of Shenzhen Yuejiang Technology Co., Ltd.; Song Yintao, General Manager of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.; Xu Shiming, Director of the South China Solution Center at Scantech (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd.; and Li Lun, Head of South China at Xi’an Bright Laser Technologies Co., Ltd., shared their latest insights and technological advances in areas including collaborative robots and intelligent equipment applications, precision measurement and quality control, 3D scanning and digital inspection, and advanced metal additive manufacturing.
