A one-week training on improving the ability of specialty directors is carried out in Tongde Building, Liuxiandong Campus.

In order to further improve the construction level of the specialty director team (including the teaching and research office and the practical training room) in our school, a one-week training on improving the ability of specialty directors was carried out in Tongde Building, Liuxiandong Campus, from June 28 to July 3. A total of 119 personnel attended the training, including specialty directors, directors of the teaching and research office and directors of the practical training room.

At the opening ceremony, Yang Xinbin, secretary of the Party Committee and president of Shenzhen Polytechnic made an inspiring speech with the theme of "focusing on ability improvement and becoming a leader in specialty building". He introduced the urgency of ability improvement in the background of vocational education reform promoted by new technology and "world-class" vocational colleges building, put forward nine visions of ability development, like specialty development prospects, and pointed out that specialty directors should strive to become professional education experts, teaching experts, technical skill masters, team building leaders and strategic development winners. In addition, he proposed 20 questions, such as positioning and logic, for directors to learn with the issue in mind, requiring them to develop a work style of focusing on planning, action, pattern and implementation through learning, and to have a world-class vision, create world-class standards and achieve world-class results.

During the training, Lu Xin, a member of CPPCC, chairperson of the Chinese Society for Vocational and Technical Education (CSTVE) and former vice minister of Education, was invited to deliver a special report entitled "Artificial Intelligence and Economics: Comprehensive Construction of A New Field of 'Double High' Construction" in Beijing; Liu Xianping, former director, researcher and second-class professor of Vocational Education and Adult Education Research Institute of Hunan Provincial Research Institute of Education, was invited to make a report on "To Be the Leader of Vocational Education Curriculum Reform in China—on Modular Curriculum Design"; Ma Xiaoming, vice president of the school, also delivered the theme report of "Co-existence and Co-growth of 1+X Certificate and Course-Certificate Integration". Their report has further helped clarify the "target", "what to do", "how to do", "how to evaluate" and other issues concerning the construction task of "Double High". Meanwhile, it has built a platform for specialty directors to exchange and learn with each other, laying a solid foundation for improving the school's specialty construction and teaching quality of education.

The training lasted for five and a half days, offering 46 courses in 8 subjects, including double high, teaching, teaching staff construction, science-education integration, intelligent teaching, quality assurance, improvement of students' quality and internationalization.
