On April 8, the campus job fair for 2023 graduates majoring in preschool education in Shenzhen, sponsored by Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau, organized by SZPT, and co-organized by Shenzhen University and Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology, was successfully held in the gymnasium of Liuxiandong Campus at SZPT. There were 125 public kindergartens from all districts of Shenzhen (including Shenzhen-Shantou Cooperation Zone) actively registered for the fair, providing more than 300 jobs. A total of 220 graduates (2023) majoring in preschool education from three colleges submitted their resumes. Zhao Li, Deputy Director of the Municipal Education Bureau, and Li Li, Director of the Preschool Department, were present to give instructions, accompanied by Yang Xinbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of SZPT.

It is reported that before 2022, the kindergarten teachers in our city mainly came from outside the city, and the number of preschool education students trained by colleges within the city was small, making it difficult to meet the increasing demand for preschool education teachers. In 2019, with the support of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government, SZPT and Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology set up a preschool education major at the junior college level, effectively enriching the supply of local talents for preschool education. This year marks the second time following 2022 to hold a campus job fair for graduates majoring in preschool education from municipal colleges.

The official from the municipal education bureau said that teachers’ competency and employment stability are important indicatorsof the development of preschool education quality. Local colleges have obvious advantages in this respect, as the vast majority of the students are from Guangdong Province, who have a strongwillingness to stay in Shenzhen foremployment andcareer development after graduation; on the other hand, local colleges and kindergartens are more convenient in collaborative education, as they can realize in-depth cooperation in curriculum construction, base sharing, teacher exchange and other aspects, so as to enable graduates to be better qualified for the job requirements of kindergarten education personnel, greatly shorten the pre-job adaptation period, and effectively match talent supply and demand..

The relevant person in charge of SZPT said that it has always been the orientation of our college to promote the reform and innovation of preschool education talent training with the concept and model of vocational education, while deepening the integration of industry and education and the campus cooperation is an effective way to improve the quality of preschool education. In recent years, SZPT has linked up with the educational resources of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and cooperated with South China Normal University to carry out the “3+2” joint training. A number of preschool education students won prizes in the preschool education segment of Guangdong Vocational College Skills Competition and the China-ASEAN Infant Care Service Skills International Competition, fully demonstrating their solid foundation and good quality.

This campus job fair also arranged a special exhibition area for students’ handmade works, showing their innovation, creativity and practical skills. More than 300studentworksreceived high praise from the principals.
