On April 15, the 2023 Virtual Cultural Exchange and Presentation Competition Programme, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, Shenzhen Polytechnic and Nanning College for Vocational Technology, concluded successfully. The event was conducted through a combination of online and offline activities, consisting of two sessions: presentation competition and cultural exchange. Tang Kesheng, Director of Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs, Liang Jingji, Senior Project Director of the Student Development Section of Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, Zhang Xiaozhong, Director of the Foreign Affairs and Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Section of Nanning International Office (Office of Hong Kong and Macau Affairs) and other leaders from three regions attended the event. More than 1,000 teachers and students participated in the event.

In the presentation competition session, 18 contestants from Guangxi, Hong Kong and Guangdong brought the audience a cultural audio-visual feast by elaborating on “A story of transformation”, “Which one will you choose, money or appearance?” and other topics from different angles and levels, combined with their own experiences, in Cantonese, English or Mandarin. After intense competition, the 6 contestants recommended by our college won 1 grand prize, 2 first prizes and 3 second prizes. Wang Baorou from School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering was also voted by the audience in the three regions to win the “My Favorite Presentation” award. In the cultural exchange session, students from the three regions wonderfully performed folk dance, waist drum, lion dance, singing and other programs to make the audience feel the deep friendship and youthful vitality among the young students from the three regions.

The event provided a communication platform for the students from Guangxi, Hong Kong and Guangdong to show their wisdom and talent while promoting mutual understanding, friendship, andappreciation for the integration and charm of the Chinese culturethat originates from the same root.
