On May 27, the 7th Huawei ICT Competition Global Final came to an end in Shenzhen. SZPT selected 3 teams to participate in the competition and won 3 grand prizes, becoming the college that won the highest number of top awards. Among them, the students (Guo Runquan, Sun Minghui and Chen Chengxi), instructed by the teacher Liang Guangmin from the School of Electric and Communication Engineering, won the global grand prize of the practice competition on the computing track; the students (Hong Ziyin, Wu Jialun and Wu Jiahong), instructed by the teacher Wang Sunan from the School of Electric and Communication Engineering, won the global grand prize of the practice competition on the network track; the students (Liang Hongxi, Zheng Danru and Huang Haolun), instructed by the teacher Wang Yongxue from the School of Electric and Communication Engineering, won the global grand prize of the practice competition on the cloud track.
This year’s Huawei ICT Competition consisted of the practice competition on the network track, practice competition on the cloud track, practice competition on the computing track, innovation track, power industry digitalization track, and smart road track. The students of more than 2,000 colleges and universities from 74 countries around the world competed on the same stage. Over 120,000 contestants participated in the competition. After the selection of domestic and regional contests, 146 teams of 429 students from 36 countries and regions finally participated in the global final.
In the national selection held in April, SZPT won 2 grand prizes and 1 first prize. In this global competition, our teachers and students made further breakthroughs, and the 3 teams all won the highest prize - the brand prize. These achievements showed the strength and talent of our students, and also highlighted the SZPT’s advantages in digital talent training.
On the same day, Huawei also held the Global Teachers Summit Forum, where representatives from UNESCO and many colleges and universities from Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Latin America and other regions shared their experiences in cooperating with Huawei to cultivate digital talents, and discussed the development direction and trend of digital talents in the future.
