On June 9, SZPT and BIC EURONOVA signed a cooperation agreement, in which the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of science and technology innovation education, jointly holding science and technology innovation competitions, jointly applying for scientific research projects, etc., and explore new paths and new experiences for deepening China-EU science and technology education cooperation. Zhong Yiying said that Shenzhen insists on placing vocational education in a prominent positionof the education reform and innovation and the economic and social development, firmly adheres to the concept of “no modernization of vocational education without modernization of industry”, fully connects with the aspirations of the State, the needs of the Bay Area and the capabilities of Shenzhen, and strives to be a pioneer in building world-class vocational education with Chinese characteristics. The cooperation between SZPT and BIC EURONOVA marks a more solid step in Shenzhen’s vocational education opening up to the outside world. It is hoped that the two sides can give full play to their respective advantages and characteristics, provide more support and opportunities for cultivating high-quality applied talents with international vision, innovation spirit and practical ability, and contribute to the vocational education and urban industrial transformation and upgrading in Shenzhen.

Gan Lu said that the internationalization of vocational education is theessential way to cultivate high-end technical talents with an international perspective, and EU countries generally attach great importance to vocational education, which is the highland of global vocational education, and China-EU cooperation in the field of vocational education is of great strategic significance. BIC EURONOVA will join hands with SZPT to actively promote China-EU vocational education cooperation.

Xu Jianling mentioned that SZPT has long been actively involved in the global governance of vocational education and has established friendly cooperative relations with 186 colleges, universities and educational institutions in 41 countries and regions. SZPT is very honored to sign a cooperation agreement with BIC EURONOVA. In the future, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of scientific and technological innovation education, holding scientific and technological innovation competitions, and joint application for scientific research projects.

It is reported that BIC EURONOVA, founded in 1991 by the Director General for Regional Development of the European Commission and headquartered in Malaga, Spain, the “Silicon Valley of the EU”, has become a global leading platform for scientific and technological innovation and investment for more than 30 years. In September 2022, BIC EURONOVA officially landed in China, with its administration headquarters in Beijing and an innovation space in Shenzhen. Since its inception, BIC EURONOVA has maintained active cooperation with colleges and universities. The innovation center “Green Ray” jointly established by the European Headquarters of BIC EURONOVA and the University of Malaga, and the Skydeck innovation platform established in collaboration with the University of California, Berkeley, have become benchmark projects attracting global attention.
