On June 19, the School of Economics held a meeting of Chinese and Australian teachers and students from the 2020 Financial Management (China-Australia Cooperation) program at Mingde Building, Liuxiandong Campus. A delegation of three members led by Duncan Bentley, President of Federation University Australia, teachers of the School of Economics, and representatives of graduates from the 2020 Financial Management program attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Wang Ying, Dean of the School of Economics, extended a warm welcome to Duncan Bentley and his delegation. She said that higher education is the trend of the world, and the two sides have maintained in-depth cooperation in many fields such as teaching and research, and obtained excellent results. Since 2011, the Financial Management (China-Australia Cooperation) program has enrolled a total of 996 students in 12 sessions. The two sides worked together to train talents in international finance, with 859 graduates into the society, of which nearly 500 pursued further study at Federation University after graduation, and more than 60% of the graduates of cooperation programs went to Federation University for further study every year. Practice has proved that the cooperation between the two sides is successful. She wished the graduates of Financial Management (China-Australia Cooperation) program success and a bright future.
Afterwards, Duncan Bentley congratulated the graduates, told them about the history and current situation of Federation University, and welcomed them to continue their bachelor’s degree at Federation University after graduation. He mentioned that the China-Australia cooperation program between Federation University and Shenzhen Polytechnic has been carried out for many years, and although COVID-19 brought unimaginable difficulties and seriously affected everyone’s normal work, life and study, both sides were committed to maintaining, consolidating and expanding this program. He expressed thanks to SZPT leaders and teachers for their selfless dedication and excellent educational spirit, which ensured the good operation and today’s achievements of the cooperation program between the two sides.
At the end, Duncan Bentley presented the graduates with their Federation University diplomas and congratulatory letters. All the leaders, teachers and students took a group photo together.
