The meeting site
On July 11, a delegation of three members from University of Wisconsin-Madison, including Zhang Xiujuan, Director of Industry-Education-Research Center under School of Engineering, and Sun Jingxi, Chief Consultant of Materials Industry Association under School of Engineering, visited SZPT. Xu Jianling, President of SZPT, received the delegation in Mingde Building. Yang Jinfeng, Dean of School of Artificial Intelligence, Yang Congkun, Deputy Director of International Office, and other related persons attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Xu Jianling extended a warm welcome to the delegation from University of Wisconsin. He introduced to the guests the development of SZPT in recent years, with focus on 6 majors in the first undergraduate enrollment, and put forward suggestions for undergraduate students to study in University of Wisconsin-Madison and carry out cooperation on the programs for bachelor’s, master’s and doctor’s degrees in the future. At the same time, he also suggested that the two universities exchange professional teachers and work together on building vocational education and training centers, industry-education-research centers, etc.
Zhang Xiujuan introduced the academic achievements made by University of Wisconsin-Madison, and explained that the idea of Wisconsin is mainly to internalize the development of local enterprises through university education, which coincides with the educational positioning of SZPT to serve local industries and enterprises. Meanwhile, she fully agreed with the cooperation proposals put forward by President Xu Jianling and said that she would actively promote related projects. She spoke highly of SZPT’s scientific research achievements and our ability to serve local economic development, and looked forward to further cooperation between the two sides on academic exchanges, undergraduate training, teacher training, industry-education integration, and other aspects.
Before the talks, Zhang Xiujuan and her delegation visited the training rooms of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the School of Digital Creation and Animation, and Hoffmann Institute of Advanced Materials. (Zou Geng, International Office)
