Recently, the 2023 Digital Transformation of College Education & Information Technology Innovation Seminar, sponsored by China Higher Education information Academy (“CHEIA”), organized by SZPT, and co-organized by Shenzhen Higher Education Informationization Society and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., was held in Shenzhen. The conference focused on the two major topics: “Digital Transformation of Education” and “Information Technology Innovation” in colleges and universities. Over 200 representatives of more than 100 colleges and universities and more than 20 enterprises from 31 provinces and cities nationwide planned the new development of college information work in the new era around the themes of college governance, high-quality talent training and information security under the background of digital transformation in colleges and universities.

Zhong Lianrong, Chairman of CHEIA, pointed out that digital transformation and information technology innovation are national strategies, and new driving forces of national economic development, which can drive the transformation of the entire industrial system in society. As an important part of China’s future digital industrial clusters, digital transformation of education and information technology innovation must accurately identify changes and respond quickly.

Wang Youmin, President of Shenzhen Higher Education Informationization Society, introduced the background and innovative practices of the society, hoping to establish closer cooperation and contact with CHEIA through this conference, give full play to the advantages of Shenzhen in “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and “Socialist Pilot Demonstration Zone”, make more beneficial explorations and attempts in education informatization, and achieve more research results.

Yang Xinbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of SZPT, introduced our educational achievements, and fruitful work on digital transformation in aspects of curriculum design, industry-education integration, school-enterprise cooperation, platform construction, etc. He said that SZPT would take this conference as an opportunity to lead and promote the high-quality development of SZPT with “digitalization”, and speed up the construction of a world-class vocational college with Chinese characteristics and a Chinese model for the digital transformation of the world’s vocational and technical education.

In the report and exchange session, experts, scholars and enterprise representatives conducted in-depth discussions on the new model and new achievements of information work in colleges and universities under the trend of digital transformation of education. Experts from 11 colleges and universities, including Tsinghua University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, and Chinese University of Hong Kong, with focus on the two major topics: “Digital Transformation of Education” and “Information Technology Innovation”, discussed the hot topics of digital transformation in colleges and universities, the development of digital transformation in domestic colleges and universities, the comparison of digital transformation in Chinese and American colleges and universities, smart classroom, smart teaching, the plan and implementation path of information innovation in colleges and universities, and the development of digital-related technologies. Some experts also shared their practical experiences of information construction in colleges and universities.

Representatives of five enterprises, including Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Beijing Jingyeda Technology Co., Ltd., Chengdu Comsys Tech Co. Ltd., Ruijie Networks Co., Ltd., and Beijing Zhizhayi Technology Co., Ltd., shared their cases and achievements in the application of information construction in colleges and universities. Other companies also showcased their latest information products and solutions.

The conference also held an expert forum, where experts from colleges, universities and enterprises discussed and exchanged views on the connotation, construction content and possible difficulties of digital transformation in colleges and universities.

The two-day conference is of great significance for promoting the information development of higher education in China, accelerating the innovation of education information technology, and improving the ability and level of talents engaged in the information construction in colleges and universities.
