The reception meeting of the TVTC training workshop in China was held in Mingde Building

On July 27, the TVTC training workshop in China held by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), MOFCOM, paid a visit to SZPT. The training workshop had a total of 18 members, mainly including executive officials from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), headed by Nouf Alsalamah, Deputy Director of Division of International Cooperation, TVTC, with all members being the deans/presents of schools and colleges under TVTC. Xu Jianling, President of SZPT, warmly received the delegation in Mingde Building. Song Rong, Dean of School of Electronic and Communication Engineering, Yang Congkun, Deputy Director of International Office, and other relevant staff attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Xu Jianling extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced SZPT’s basic overview, school-running characteristics, school-enterprise cooperation, overseas cooperation, and pace of “going global”. He hoped to take this opportunity to facilitate closer exchanges and cooperation in vocational education between China and Saudi Arabia, expand cooperation areas, innovate cooperation modes, enrich cooperation connotations, and set an example with practical results for promoting the construction of China-Arab community with a shared future facing the new era.

Chen Runyun, Vice President of AIBO, expressed his gratitude for our warm reception and stated that this workshop is more than an international human resources cooperation project of the Chinese government, but can also be considered one of the concrete measures to implement the results of the high-level visit by China President Xi Jinping. Then, Ms. Nouf Alsalamah, Deputy Director of Division of International Cooperation, TVTC, thanked us for thoughtful arrangements and spoke highly of our school-running level. In addition, she also introduced the membership composition of TVTC and the development status of vocational education in Saudi Arabia, and in the context of the development of vocational education becoming a national strategy of Saudi Arabia, she hoped to take advantage of the east wind of China-Saudi Arabia friendship to promote various cooperation projects in the field of vocational education.

In the following sessions, Song Rong, Dean of School of Electronic and Communication Engineering, Lyu Jing, Director of Hotel Management Department, School of Management, and Xie Yaqi, an Arabic teacher from School of Business, introduced the development of the schools and majors respectively. The two sides had in-depth discussions on the “top-up” program in Saudi Arabia, teacher training program, student exchanges and other related topics. The atmosphere of the meeting was warm, where the two sides actively spoke and expressed their opinions, and reached agreement on a number of cooperation projects.

After the meeting, the TVTC delegation visited the training room of the School of Management. The elegant and simple decoration style and the warm and comfortable environment of the training room won unanimous praise from Saudi colleagues.

All along, SZPT has been active in the global governance of vocational education. To date, we have established friendly cooperative relations with 186 colleges, universities and educational institutions in 41 countries and regions, built 9 overseas vocational education training centers, and organized 4 consecutive international seminars on vocational education under the “Belt and Road” initiative, playing an important role in driving China’s vocational education to “go global” and deepening international exchanges and cooperation in vocational education.
