Recently, Wei Changning, a teacher from School of Future Technology, SZPT, was awarded the certificate of selection into the eighth session of CAST “Young Talent Lifting Project”, becoming one of the 729 outstanding young talents to be funded in this session. Up to now, two young teachers of SZPT have been selected into CAST “Young Talent Lifting Project”.

The teacher Wei Changning performs well in the field of hard science and technology such as 5G/6G wireless communication and antenna RF integrated circuit. He has published a number of high-level research papers, authorized multiple international and national invention patents, and undertaken several key technology research projects to drive the upstream and downstream development of related industrial chains, making positive contributions to promoting scientific and technological progress and talent training in this field.

It is reported that the “Young Talent Lifting Project” is a national young talent program established by the China Association for Science and Technology in October 2015. By way of rewards instead of subsidies, and stable support, the project aims to vigorously support young scientific and technological talents under 32 years old with great innovation ability and development potential, and help them make outstanding achievements in the golden age of creativity, and grow into important reserve forces of high-level leading talents and innovation teams in major fields of science and technology in China.

Profile: Wei Changning, Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from Chinese University of Hong Kong, is mainly engaged in the research on 5G/6G wireless communication and antenna RF integrated circuit. He previously served as the Deputy General Manager of Aviation and Land Business Department, Asia Pacific Satellite Broadband Communications (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. In 2022, he entered Shenzhen Polytechnic through the high-level talent program and served as a lecturer in the School of Future Technology, devoted to the transformation of industry-university-research cooperation achievements in the new engineering education and the hard science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship. He has published 10 SCI papers, 3 EI papers, 2papers in Chinese core journals, and authorized 8 international and Chinese invention patents, and 2 software patents. As the main technical person in charge of “Key technology research of multi-mode and multi-frequency RF front chip for 6G and satellite communication” and other projects under the Science and Technology Innovation Commission and the Development and Reform Commission in Shenzhen, he led the students to win the second prize in the final group competition of the preliminary selection of Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao colleges and universities in the 15^th China Shenzhen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. He was also selected into the eighth session of CAST “Young Talent Lifting Project” and as one of overseas high-level talents in Shenzhen.
