A Delegation Led by Dean of School of Global Studies in FedUni Visited SZPU

On September 15, a delegation of three members led by Jason Giri, Dean of School of Global Studies of Federation University Australia (FedUni), visited our university and had a symposium withthe School of Economics in the conference room of Mingde Building. The persons who attended the symposium included: Xiao Ling, Deputy Dean of School of Economics; Lin Qi, Director of Financial Services and Management (China-Australia); Liu Min, Director of Community Management and Services; Li Changsheng, Director of Financial Technology Application; Zhao Jinling, Director of Big Data and Accounting; Li Yue, Deputy Director of Legal Affairs; Peng Jian, Deputy Director of Financial Services and Management (China-Australia);LiuZhaohui, Teacher of Financial Services and Management (China-Australia); and Ji Nannan, Secretary of Foreign Affairs.

At the symposium, Xiao Ling said that the cooperation between SZPU and FedUni is one of the most successful Sino-foreign cooperation programs in our university, and thanked the leaders and teachers of FedUni for their dedication to the cooperation program. The cooperation between the two universities has a long history, and the School of Economics hoped to further cooperate with FedUni. Jason Giri said that Shenzhen Polytechnic University has a beautiful campus, and a talent training level enjoying a good reputation both at home and abroad. FedUni attaches great importance to the cooperation with Shenzhen Polytechnic University. Shyh Wei Teng, Academic Director of Institute of Innovation Science and Sustainable Development, and Gloria Lee, International Project Manager of School of Global Studies in FedUni, accompanied the visit this time, hoping to further deepen the cooperation between the two universities.

Then, Shyh Wei Teng introduced the functions, curriculum setting, international cooperation areas and language training of the School of Global Studies in FedUni, and fully analyzed the possibility of cooperation between the two schools in respect of corresponding majors. Gloria Lee and directors of relevant majors had a positive discussion on the cooperation mode of the junior college, undergraduate and graduate level for corresponding majors in the two schools.

In the end, the leaders and directors of relevant majors from the two schools had a detailed discussion on the mutual recognition of courses, mutual recognition of credits, professional qualifications, cooperation models and other aspects. Jason Giri said that he hoped to compare the courses of the two schools through course matching and linkage degree, so as to maximize the degree of mutual recognition of course and credits for students of the School of Economics, and help students of relevant majors to pursue further studies in FedUni via the platform of education cooperation between the two universities.

The symposium ended in a friendly and warm atmosphere. After that, all leaders and teachers took a group photo together. (Ji Nannan, School of Economics)
