On October 11, led by Wang Wenbin, Deputy Dean of School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Gao Fawen, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of the School, teachers and counselors, the School carried out an activity to visit famous enterprises in the Bay Area with the theme of “Unity of Knowledge and Practice in the Greater Bay Area for Better Careers in the Future”. A total of 19 students from Grade 2023 Huang Kejing Class were organized to conduct study and exchanges at CGN, and jointly explore the password of the rise of famous enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, so as to boost the growth of Hong Kong youth into excellent talents.
In the course of the visit, the staff introduced in detail the development history and concept of CGN, the power generation principle of nuclear power plants, the nuclear power operation of CGN, relevant safety measures and the application of nuclear energy in today’s world. In the exhibition hall, the teachers and students attentively viewed the historical materials and plant models, and seriously felt the corporate culture of CGN. During the period, all the teachers and students also went to the observation deck of Ling Ao Nuclear Power Plant Phase I to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the nuclear power station and the blue sky and clear sea complementing each other, and took a group photo together. The last stop was the CGN Training Center, where the staff introduced the new employee training system of CGN, including pre-service training, comprehensive induction training, on-the-job training, comprehensive assessment, etc. Every new employee needs to complete the training and assessment before starting work.
The activity increased young Hong Kong students’ knowledge and understanding of enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promoted the integration of Hong Kong youth into the study and life in Mainland, drove them to work and start businesses in the Bay Area and share the prosperity and greatness of the motherland, and enhanced their sense of gain and national pride.
