On April 18th, Professor Franck Violet, a representative of the president of the Lyon Catholic University, visited Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU). The meeting included SZPU’s Vice President Li Yue, Director Wang Bingfeng of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, and Niu Qiaoxia, a faculty member from the School of Business and Foreign Studies. The discussion took place in Room 101 of the Mingde Building.
Vice President Li Yue welcomed Professor Violet, highlighting the historical development, operational achievements, and international collaborations of SZPU. She noted that this year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, and Professor Violet’s visit heralds new opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions. SZPU is eager to collaborate in areas such as student and faculty exchanges, teacher training, and academic and research activities, confident that such initiatives will significantly contribute to the cultural and youth exchanges between China and France.
Professor Violet expressed his delight in visiting SZPU, reflecting on the collaboration that began in 2015. Since then, four cohorts of French-major students have participated in exchange programs in France, with some outstanding graduates pursuing further studies in France for Master’s and Ph.D. degrees. He is optimistic that the ongoing cooperation will continue to benefit both teachers and students and believes it will underscore the enduring friendship between China and France.
The meeting concluded with a detailed discussion on student exchanges, faculty exchanges, academic collaboration, and research cooperation, achieving preliminary agreements on future collaborations. (Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Li Simin)
