Shenzhen Polytechnic University’s 31st Anniversary

Thirty years have passed, another season begins

What is Shenzhen Polytechnic University?

It is the eagerly awaited admission notice,

the “vest red” seen bustling in the streets of Shenzhen,

and the life-guiding mottos of the Rixin Building.

SZPU is the main stage for 178 societies

and a large family with ten academies.

It's an arena for skill development and national service,

a hotbed for diligent learners

and cradle for entrepreneurs,

a place where gears of destinies start to turn.

SZPU is my alma mater.

Once a barren land described only as a “small fishing village”,

SZPU has been transformed into a flourishing green oasis.

Basic teaching facilities have been upgraded to modern practical training facilities.

From its first batch of just over fifty students to now over 30,000 students and 180,000 alumni,

SZPU continually builds a reservoir of technical elite, striving to incubate new-quality productivity talents.

From using borrowed buildings for offices and teaching to owning three major campuses in Xilihu, Overseas Chinese Town, and Shenshan,

SZPU is an ever-expanding, annually refreshing major project.

Over 31 years in a flash,

SZPU has vividly contributed to Shenzhen’s rapid support system.

Along the way, SZPU has become:

One of the first nationally recognized universities for innovative and entrepreneurial experiences (2016).

A pioneer as one of the first national model higher vocational colleges (2009).

 One of the first to be selected for the “Double High Plan” project A construction unit (2019).

 Among the first to pilot the “one-stop” student community comprehensive management model (2019).

A flagship of China’s higher vocational education.

At the beginning of a new chapter, SZPU

stands ready to set new standards and achieve new heights.

During the “Fourteenth Five-Year” period, it was the first nationally approved public vocational college at the bachelor’s level.

Celebrating early victories,

the first enrollment of bachelor’s degree programs in physical sciences scored 555 points,

ranking eleventh in Guangdong.

SZPU continues to excel in awards and achievements,

strengthening its faculty and expanding its teams.

It’s breaking new ground in applied research and innovation,

shouldering responsibilities for assistance and focusing on societal well-being.

Embracing an international perspective, SZPU integrates into the Greater Bay Area development.

SZPU has helped me find great mentors, meet good friends, inspired me to pursue brilliance and pass on the torch.

It ensures high-quality employment not just for graduation but for a lifetime of “never graduating”, granting me superpowers beyond my immediate limitations.

SZPU is the juncture of youth, generously providing ample opportunities for trial and error, foundational for “professional success” and “spiritual adulthood”.

It is the compass for my personal navigation, redefining my relationship with the university, guiding me towards a life of refusing mediocrity and pursuing excellence.

Where aspirations lie, there are no unreachable distances. SZPU progresses in virtue and strength without cease.
