University leaders award certificates, medals, and trophies to representatives of winning groups and individuals.
On May 8th, Shenzhen Polytechnic University held a conference in the music hall at the Liuxiandong Campus to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement and the 2023-2024 academic year’s Youth League work commendation. Vice President Dong Chaojun attended the event, along with leaders from the Student Affairs Department, party committees of various schools, and Youth League Committee (Youth League Branch) leaders. Over 600 representatives of award-winning Youth League members and officials participated. The conference was chaired by Du Sen, Deputy Secretary of the University Youth League Committee.
The conference opened to the majestic sound of the national anthem. Zheng Qiujie, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee from the School of Automotive Engineering, led all the Youth League members in reciting their oath. As the vibrant Youth League flag fluttered high, the young teachers and students made a solemn declaration to strive diligently for the nation. Following this, distinguished guests awarded certificates, medals, and trophies to outstanding Youth League members, exemplary student Youth League officials, exemplary teacher Youth League officials, May Fourth Red Flag Youth Branches, outstanding student societies, exemplary student society advisors, May Fourth Red Flag Student Unions, outstanding student union advisors, May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committees, exemplary Youth League secretaries from various schools, recipients of the Shenzhen Polytechnic Youth May Fourth Medal, and the Volunteer Service “President’s Award”.
After the award ceremony, exemplary Youth League member representative Yang Jingxian from the School of Materials and Environmental Sciences, and outstanding school Youth League secretary representative Zhang Yizhe from the School of Education shared their experiences as Youth League members and officials in the new era. They expressed their original aspirations, responsibilities, and missions, and called on all teachers and students to forge ahead and make significant contributions in this new era.
Vice President Dong Chaojun extended sincere greetings on behalf of the university to all young teachers and students, warmly congratulated the advanced collectives and individuals, and articulated four hopes for the youth: First, to have the tenacity to “never relent in holding onto the green hills”. They should continue the fine tradition of “responding to the Party’s call with action”, maintain a full spirit and firm attitude, and achieve the best results in the arena of youth. Second, to possess the daring spirit to “teach the sun and the moon to change the sky”. They should face all challenges with strong determination, write a brilliant chapter in the journey of crafting high-quality vocational education. Third, to exhibit the persistence of “a sharp sword forged from grinding”. They should actively learn new knowledge, solidify professional skills, set ambitious goals, and maintain a strong desire for knowledge and continuous learning. Fourth, to have the determination of “not returning until the fortress is breached”. They should boldly innovate their thinking and self-renewal, becoming pioneers and trailblazers of the times.
The conference concluded with everyone singing the League anthem, “Glory to the Communist Youth League of China”.
