Delegation from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland Visits Our University for Academic Exchange

Date: Jul 26, 2024

On July 26, a delegation from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), specializing in engineering and manufacturing, visited our university for an academic exchange. The delegation, led by Professor Donatella Corti, Head of the Engineering and Manufacturing Department, consisted of 40 faculty members and students. The visit aimed to foster deeper collaboration and exchange in education and research between the two institutions. During the visit, the delegation toured the Tech X Academy, the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering, and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, with relevant faculty members accompanying them throughout the visit.

During the event, the delegation visited the Tech X Academy, located in the Cloud Technology Building. As a base for cultivating cutting-edge talent in science and technology, the Tech X Academy showcased a series of initiatives that our university has implemented to develop new productive capacities and train students in emerging engineering fields. Through tours of the training labs and an overview of student projects, the delegation expressed high appreciation for the academy’s focus on practical application and its encouragement of innovative thinking.

Following this, the delegation visited the Han’s Laser Industry Academy and the BYD Applied Technology Academy. These specialized industry academies exemplify the successful collaboration between academia and industry in talent cultivation. The visit provided the delegation with a comprehensive understanding of our university’s extensive efforts in integrating education with industry. During the tour, the delegation gained deeper insights into the advanced experimental instruments, training equipment, and teaching facilities at the industry academies, and engaged in lively discussions with our faculty.

This exchange visit provided a valuable opportunity for faculty and students from both universities to strengthen their friendship and explore avenues for mutual development. The delegation from SUPSI expressed their intention to use this visit as a starting point for further communication and cooperation with our university, jointly exploring new models and pathways for educational collaboration. Together, we aim to contribute to the development of highly qualified engineering and technical talents with an international perspective and innovative abilities.
