On October 26, the 2024 “NIO Cup” Formula Student Electric China (FSEC) and the 2024 “NIO Cup” Formula Student Autonomous China (FSAC) concluded successfully. Over six days of intense competition, the Phantom Formula Racing Team from Shenzhen Polytechnic University fought hard with its electric and autonomous vehicles, achieving outstanding results. The Electric Team won the “National Second Prize” and the “Outstanding Annual Promotion Team” award at FSEC, while the Autonomous Team earned the “National Second Prize”, the “Dark Horse Award”, and another “Outstanding Annual Promotion Team” honor at FSAC. Both teams ranked high in several dynamic events, showcasing the innovation and practical skills of Shenzhen Polytechnic University students.

The 2024 “NIO Cup” FSEC brought together 82 teams from China, Germany, and Singapore, with fierce competition testing not only vehicle performance but also vehicle design, cost control, and marketing skills. In the figure-eight event of the dynamic competitions, the Phantom Formula Racing Electric Team demonstrated excellent handling, finishing seventh nationwide in this category. The team also performed exceptionally in straight-line acceleration and high-speed obstacle avoidance events, maintaining a leading position among Chinese universities.

In the 2024 “NIO Cup” FSAC, where 35 teams participated, the Phantom Formula Racing Autonomous Team passed both electric and autonomous inspections, becoming one of only seven teams to complete these checks. After continuous adjustments and testing, the autonomous vehicle successfully completed various events, including vehicle design, figure-eight, handling, and straight-line acceleration tests. The team achieved an impressive sixth place nationwide and received the “MATLAB/Simulink Modeling and Simulation Dark Horse Award”. This was the first time the Phantom Formula Racing Team had won an award in design theory, highlighting their remarkable progress and capabilities in technical innovation and theoretical research.
