From October 28 to 31, the Finals of the 2024 World Vocational Colleges Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group) in the category of "Intelligent Building Systems Installation and Commissioning" concluded successfully at Heilongjiang College of Construction Vocational Technology. A team from Shenzhen Polytechnic University’s School of Electromechanical Engineering, consisting of students Cai Jianjun, Wu Bingchu, Lin Jiawei, and Huang Shihong, under the guidance of instructors Jia Xiaobao and Zhou Yunling, won the gold medal in this category.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Education along with 34 other government departments and the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, and organized by the Heilongjiang Department of Education with Heilongjiang College of Construction Vocational Technology as a co-organizer, the competition was held under the theme "Skills Illuminate Youth, Abilities Create the Future." This year’s competition adopted a new format that emphasized comprehensive practical skills and technical application in intelligent building system design, installation, wiring, programming, debugging, and maintenance. Teams designed their own project content, selected equipment, and divided tasks among members, allowing for simultaneous skills demonstrations and on-site explanations. In this intense competition, SZPU’s team showed composure, coordination, and teamwork, securing their win through a strong command of professional knowledge, advanced skills, high professional standards, and consistent performance under pressure.
