The “Shenzhen Universiade Study Abroad Fund” award ceremony was held in the Mingde Building.
On November 5, Shenzhen Polytechnic University held the 2024 “Shenzhen Universiade Study Abroad Scholarship” award ceremony in Room 109 of the Mingde Building. Vice President Li Yue attended the ceremony and presented awards to the scholarship recipients. The event was also attended by Xiao Ling, Associate Dean of the School of Economics; Yang Congkun, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation; Chinese language teachers, all international language students, and scholarship-winning international students. Yang Congkun hosted the ceremony.
A total of 14 students from SZPU received the Shenzhen Universiade Study Abroad Scholarship this year, including 8 international language students, 5 international students enrolled in degree programs in China, and one graduate who is now studying abroad. Three outstanding scholarship recipients gave acceptance speeches. Among them, Zhou Yu, an SZPU graduate currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Melbourne in Australia, shared her gratitude via a pre-recorded video, as she could not attend in person. Her parents accepted the award on her behalf. The award recipients expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Shenzhen Universiade Study Abroad Fund, the university, and their teachers, noting that the scholarship has greatly motivated them to work harder in their studies. They committed to dedicating themselves to academic excellence, mastering professional knowledge, and laying a solid foundation for their future academic and career paths.
In her speech, Vice President Li Yue congratulated the scholarship recipients, encouraging them to continue their hard work and become ambassadors of friendship between China and other countries. She also encouraged all language students to cherish their time studying at SZPU, to follow university regulations, to serve as cultural bridges, and to share positive stories about China.
