On November 15th, a delegation from Hong Kong College of Technology (HKCT) visited SZPU. The delegation was met by Xu Jianling, Vice Party Secretary and President of SZPU, and Li Xiaoyuan, Vice President of the university. They were joined by Gong Deliang, a third-level researcher from the Education and Science Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as well asChan Cheuk-hay, President of HKCT, and LAM Sum, Associate Vice President of HKCT. The meeting focused on advancing vocational education exchange and cooperation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on multi-level and multi-field cooperation plans.
During the meeting, Xu Jianling introduced the university’s educational development and expressed hope for future exchanges and cooperation with HKCT in areas such as talent cultivation, research innovation, and skills training.Chan Cheuk-hay shared the long history of HKCT and the institution's strong commitment to patriotism and its efforts to promote vocational education.Chan Cheuk-hay was appointed as an Honorary Professor of SZPU, and Xu Jianling presented him with the honorary appointment certificate.
Following this, Li Xiaoyuan and LAM Sum, on behalf of the two institutions, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. Both sides expressed their intention to leverage this collaboration as an opportunity to fully utilize their respective advantages and resources, and to carry out in-depth cooperation in multiple areas. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in vocational education exchange and cooperation between SZPU and HKCT within the Greater Bay Area.
During the visit, the HKCT delegation, in collaboration with the School of Telecommunications of SZPU, hosted the "Raising the Flag Together, Hand in Hand for the Greater Bay Area" flag-raising ceremony, marking a new chapter in political education in the region.Chan Cheuk-hay also delivered his first lecture as an Honorary Professor of SZPU, titled "My Path of Patriotism," inspiring both faculty and students to cultivate a deep sense of patriotism and a strong commitment to the country.
The delegation also visited the Huawei ICT Exhibition Hall at the School of Telecommunications and the training facilities at the BYD Automotive School. They were introduced to SZPU’s initiatives in cultivating skilled talent and the collaborative construction of cutting-edge training spaces with industry partners.Chan Cheuk-hay and his team highly praised the university’s achievements in vocational skill development and teaching facilities, and they looked forward to further cooperation on more projects and in more areas in the future.
