On December 6, the “Benchmark Leading Universities Initiative” launch event, organized by the Organization Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and the Education Working Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, was successfully held at the Xili Campus of Shenzhen Polytechnic University. Wu Zhenxing, Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Wang Rujin, Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Party Group Member of the Education Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, and university leaders Yang Xinbin, Xu Jianling, and Wang Hui attended the event. The event consisted of two stages: a site visit and an exchange and display session.

During the site visit phase, attendees toured the BYD Institute of Applied Technology, the Han’s Laser Industry Academy, and the Key Materials Research Institute for Integrated Circuits to gain firsthand insight into how high-quality party-building leads innovative development in vocational education at Shenzhen Polytechnic University.

Wang Rujin, Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Party Group Member of the Education Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, delivered a speech and officially announced the launch of the “Benchmark Leading Universities Initiative” event.

Yang Xinbin, Party Secretary of SZPU, delivered a presentation titled “Promoting High-Quality Development with High-Quality Party-Building” and shared the experience of advancing both party-building and business development in an integrated manner. He emphasized that “party-building guiding career development” is the core issue of high-quality development, “educating students for the Party and nurturing talents for the country” is the fundamental task, and “promoting industry-education integration and serving industrial development” is the basic model. He stressed the importance of advancing regional balanced development and improving people’s welfare as part of high-quality development. He also discussed the need to align party-building efforts with the trends and characteristics of vocational education in the new era and strive to improve the party-building work system featuring top to bottom connection and strong execution.

Representatives from the Party organizations of Shenzhen University, Shenzhen Technology University, and Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen also shared their experiences during the session.

Shenzhen Polytechnic University presented the “Shenzhen Polytechnic Impression”, created by Lin Wenjing, a teacher from the College of Innovation and Creative Design, as the “relay baton” to Shenzhen University, the next host of the “Benchmark Leading Universities Initiative”.

A total of 106 participants attended the event, including deputy secretaries of party committees from various universities, main officers from organizational departments, party secretaries of grassroots organizations, as well as party secretaries, deputy secretaries, and organizational officers from the secondary party organizations of our university.
