Vice President Dong Chaojun Meets with the Visiting Delegation.
On December 10, Wang Shenggang, former Deputy Secretary-General of the China Scholarship Council, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, and Consultant Expert at the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, along with Bai Yi, Foreign Affairs Advisor at Central South University, and Li Tingting, Project Supervisor at the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, visited Shenzhen Polytechnic University to further promote cooperation in vocational education, cultural exchange, and talent cultivation between the university and Egypt. The delegation was received by Vice President Dong Chaojun, who also chaired the subsequent meeting.
The delegation visited several of the university’s specialized industrial colleges and training facilities, including the Huawei ICT Academy, BYD Institute of Applied Technology and Han’s Laser Industry Academy. After the tour, Wang Shenggang expressed his deep impressions of Shenzhen Polytechnic University’s educational philosophy, its strong integration of technology, and its professional programs closely aligned with industry needs. He was particularly impressed by the university’s achievements in high-tech fields such as intelligent manufacturing and new energy vehicles.
During the meeting, Vice President Dong introduced the university’s history and development, emphasizing its outstanding achievements and unique advantages in vocational education. He noted that Shenzhen Polytechnic University is dedicated to cultivating high-end application-oriented talent that meets market demands, particularly in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, information technology, and new energy vehicles, where the university has made significant achievements in teaching and research. Dong also reflected on the successful results of his recent visit to Egypt, highlighting the great potential for cooperation between the two sides in vocational education, industry-academia-research collaboration, technical training, and faculty exchanges. He expressed hope that both sides could deepen their cooperation under the framework of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
In his speech, Wang Shenggang emphasized that Shenzhen Polytechnic University’s educational philosophy closely follows market demands, especially in vocational education and high-end technical talent cultivation, which aligns with international educational development trends. Drawing on his work experience in Egypt, Wang introduced the economic and social development, and current status and development needs of vocational education in Egypt, pointing out the growing demand for technical talent in the country. He stated that Shenzhen Polytechnic University’s strengths align well with Egypt’s needs and expressed his willingness to promote further cooperation between the university and Egypt in vocational education.
Bai Yi and Li Tingting also praised Shenzhen Polytechnic University’s achievements in industry-education integration, noting that the university has cultivated a large number of high-end application-oriented talents by closely aligning with industry and enterprise needs, which plays an important role in regional economic development.
This visit has laid a solid foundation for deeper cooperation between Shenzhen Polytechnic University and Egypt in education, technology, and talent. Both sides expressed their commitment to continuing communication and collaboration to implement more practical projects and contribute to the development of education, technological innovation, and cultural exchange between the two countries.
