From March 15 to 16, the Digital Art Design Track of the 2024–2025 Guangdong Vocational College Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group) was successfully held at Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU). The event was hosted by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province and organized by SZPU’s School of Digital Media. It attracted 64 teams from 64 vocational colleges across the province, with nearly 250 contestants competing on the same stage. After intense competition, the team composed of Zhang Guohong, Wei Siyan, Zhang Miaoqiang, and Xu Changyan—students from the Game Art Design program and coached by faculty members Wu Qingqing and Fan Pu—clinched first prize in the provincial competition with an outstanding performance.
Closely aligned with the talent needs of the digital creative industry, the competition focused on core areas such as AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content) technologies, model texturing, character animation, and engine-based animation. It placed strong emphasis on evaluating participants’ professional competence, technical skills, and innovative capabilities. The two-day event consisted of two main competition modules: “Skills Module” and “Comprehensive Presentation,” with AI technologies deeply embedded in the competition design. The contest served as a comprehensive test of the participating teams’ all-round capabilities in digital art design.
