
From August 28 to 31, the finals of the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition in the Rail Transit Track kicked off in Hunan, with 155 teams from across the country competing. Two teams from our School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering’s Urban Rail Transit program competed and won one gold and one silver medal.
The competition was conducted in parallel groups. Team 1, consisting of Yuan Lingjing, Li Xingqing, Guo Yingchao, and Huang Zhimin, under the guidance of teachers Hu Songhua and Han Junlong, participated with the project “Mastering the Pantograph: Digital Upgrade of Rail Vehicle Pantograph Systems” and won the silver medal. Team 2, composed of Li Yixi, Liu Qihao, Ke Yihang, and Yang Yunrui, guided by teachers Gao Long and Lan Chunfeng, presented the project “Smart RailGuard: Intelligent Diagnosis of Signaling Equipment and Emergency Passenger Management” and won the gold medal.
After months of hard work, the students significantly improved in technical skills, professional competence, teamwork, practical application, and creativity. The teaching team has consistently adhered to the principle of “focusing on frontline realities, promoting teaching and skill enhancement through competitions, and integrating teaching with competitions to cultivate talent”. They remain committed to fostering student growth, enhancing vocational competence, and advancing vocational education, continuing efforts to cultivate more versatile talent for smart urban rail transit.
