On November 13, the opening ceremony for the Class of 2024 students enrolled in the Software Technology and Modern Logistics Management joint programs between Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU) and City University of Seattle was successfully held in the Mingde Building. Attendees included SZPU Party Secretary Yang Xinbin, City University of Seattle President Christopher Bryan, and Assistant Provost Xu Yanan, along with representatives from SZPU’s Academic Affairs Office, International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Artificial Intelligence, and School of Management. The ceremony was hosted by SZPU Vice President Li Yue.
During the ceremony, new student representatives Yu Yicheng from the School of Artificial Intelligence and Gong Qianyu from the School of Management expressed their confidence in the joint programs. They pledged to embark on their university journey with enthusiasm and determination, striving for excellence and aiming to become accomplished young leaders of the new era.
Yang Xinbin delivered a warm and inspiring speech on behalf of SZPU. He emphasized that both Shenzhen and Seattle are remarkable cities of innovation, showcasing rapid development in the software and logistics industries. The partnership between SZPU and City University of Seattle to offer programs in Software Technology and Modern Logistics Management leverages the strengths of both institutions to provide students with world-class opportunities for growth. He encouraged students to study diligently, train rigorously, and broaden their international perspectives, becoming ambassadors of Sino-American exchange and globally minded high-quality talent.
Christopher Bryan highlighted City University of Seattle’s mission since its founding in 1973 to deliver quality education to eager learners. As a leading private nonprofit higher education institution in the Pacific Northwest, the university’s global influence spans multiple countries. He motivated students to develop leadership skills, face challenges with courage, and expand their international outlook. Bryan noted that the joint programs play a vital role in helping students grow into leaders of the future.
The ceremony concluded with the exchange of commemorative gifts between the Chinese and American representatives, followed by group photos.
