University Wins 14 NSFC Projects; Horizontal Funding Arrivals Break 100 Million for the First Time

Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China announced the review results for the 2025 centralized application projects, with the university achieving another excellent result, approved for 14 projects in total, including 2 general program projects and 12 youth program (Category C) projects, with a total approved funding of 4.59 million yuan. The university has been approved for more than 10 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects for six consecutive years, fully demonstrating significant achievements in youth talent cultivation and scientific research innovation capabilities.

The university anchors the “grounded yet aspiring” applied research orientation, focusing on promoting the integrated development of basic research and applied development. In the past five years, the university has carried out over 700 technology development, service, and consulting projects for enterprises, with annual horizontal research funding arrivals exceeding 80 million yuan, of which 2024 broke through the 100 million yuan mark for the first time, with arrivals of 109 million yuan, cumulatively serving over 2,500 small and medium-sized enterprises. The university focuses on Shenzhen's “20+8” industrial clusters, leading the establishment of 1 national-level urban industry-education consortium and 8 industry-education integration communities, co-building 43 university-enterprise joint R&D centers with leading enterprises such as BYD and DJI, and constructing 11 public technology service platforms to meet the technical needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, effectively promoting industry-education integration. The university actively collaborates with local enterprises on technological breakthroughs, completing R&D projects such as “High-Performance Solder Paste for Electronic Devices and Its Industrialization” and “Photoresist Materials for Advanced Packaging”, rooting scientific research outcomes in the industrial front line and providing strong support for regional industrial upgrading and transformation.
