

On May 4, the special programThe Future Is Mine — 2026 May Fourth Youth Day Special Program, produced by China Media Group under the guidance of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, was broadcast on CCTV. Four international students studying Chinese from APEC member economies were invited to participate in the program and appeared in the segment showcasing the spirit of APEC China Year.
Russian students Georgii and Soloveva, Mexican student Monserrat, and Vietnamese student Ho Nguyen Tam joined other Shenzhen youths in performingAuld Lang Synethrough a multilingual round singing arrangement in Chinese, English, Russian, and Spanish. Their multilingual performance conveyed friendship among young people across borders and embodied the spirit of openness, cooperation, and harmonious coexistence. The program was filmed on location at venues including Shenzhen Talent Park, Shekou Museum of Reform and Opening-up, and Yantian Port. Against the backdrop of Shenzhen’s mountains and coastline, the students blended the city’s charm with youthful melodies. Their performance showcased the vitality of multicultural youth and demonstrated Shenzhen’s openness and dynamism to the world.
In recent years, SZPU has continued to advance international education and provide international students with platforms for cultural practice, exchange, and presentation. The students’ appearance on CCTV not only demonstrated the overall qualities and vitality of SZPU’s international students but also reflected the achievements of the university’s international education and exchange initiatives. Going forward, SZPU will continue to use culture as a bridge to promote mutual learning among Chinese and international youth and foster new chapters of friendship and exchange.
