On September 4, the first day of the new semester in the new school year, SZPT held a ceremony to raise a national flag raising ceremony for the new semester in the new stadium and Dayun Square at Xili Campus. SZPT Party Secretary Yang Xinbin, Deputy Party Secretary & President Xu Jianling, and Vice Presidents Dong Chaojun, Zhang Zuotai, Li Xiaoyuan attended the flag raising ceremony, and a total of more than 11,000 persons participated in the event, including the heads of the Office of Student Affairs, the Youth League Committee and other relevant departments, and the Party secretary, deputy secretary, counselor and student representative of each school.

At 7:30 am, the flag raising ceremony officially began. In the magnificent national song, the national flag team members were full of passion to raise the solemn five-star red flag above the campus; all the teachers and students stood in awe, stared intently at the rising flag, and wished the great motherland more prosperous and strong.

Then, speeches were given by two student representatives: Zhang Luohua, a 2023 undergraduate student majoring in electronic information engineering technology from the School of Future Technology, and Yang Jingxian, a 2022 student majoring in fine chemical technology from the School of Materials and Environmental Engineering. Zhang Luohua was admitted to SZPT with an excellent score of 594 this year, and is full of expectations for her study and life in the next four years. She proposed to all the students to uphold SZPT’s excellent academic style and spirit, study hard, improve skills, enhance quality, build a strong body, challenge themselves, and strive to grow into a college student with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor in the new era. Yang Jingxian introduced her experience of leading the “Challenge Cup” “Zhi Guang Hui Nong” team to win the gold medal in the 13^th National Entrepreneurship Plan Competition for College Students, and experience of participating in the national “Training Program for Young Marxists” of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China. She called on the students to uphold the craftsman spirit of dedication, excellence, meticulosity and pursuit of excellence, and strive to practice the oath of “ready to build a powerful China”, forge ahead in the same direction and with the same frequency as the motherland, and contribute youth forces to the construction of a strong country and the rejuvenation of the nation!

“Enhance both morality and knowledge, and unremittingly pursue self-renewal!” At the end of the ceremony, more than 10,000 teachers and students chanted the school motto three times, with deafening sound echoing around the campus. They all expressed that the teachers and students of the university would continue to advance all the work of the university with a higher spirit, strive for greater achievements, and make contributions to the construction of SZPT into a world-class vocational and technical university.
